The Department of Chemistry at the University of Chittagong, established in 1966, is the largest department, highlighting the university’s dedication to providing top-tier education in science. The university, founded in the same year, is a prominent institution in Bangladesh, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and research. Offering B.S. Honours, M.S., M. Phil, and Ph.D. programs in Chemistry, the department has evolved into a center of excellence, making significant contributions to the scientific community through research initiatives and academic programs. The department has also established collaborations with many national and international universities and institutions. Today, it continues to prioritize academic excellence, research, and student development, playing a crucial role in maintaining the University of Chittagong’s reputation as a hub for quality education and scientific research in Bangladesh.

  1. Create a platform for global experts to share cutting-edge research in materials, energy, radiation, environment, and nanotechnology, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

About NRCRL

Nanotechnology, Renewable Energy and Catalysis Research Laboratory (NRCRL) is an excellent place located on the third floor of the Advanced Research Building at the Department of Chemistry, University of Chittagong. 

NRCRL offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in conducting research, writing, and publishing high-quality research articles, review articles, and book chapters in the fields of nanotechnology, renewable energy, catalysis, computational chemistry, environmental science, photovoltaic technology, energy storage devices and conducting polymers. Our collaborative projects and mentorship provide members of our group with practical experience in developing and executing research projects, conducting data analysis, and effectively communicating research findings in various written formats. In addition to these opportunities, our group members have access to networking, scientific conferences, workshops, and experts in the field to develop their knowledge and skills. 

Our group is committed to supporting our students’ professional growth and success by providing a supportive and challenging research environment. We encourage creativity and innovation in research and strive to foster an inclusive and diverse community that values open communication and mutual respect.
